It’ Almost Time For Ride & Roll…
This year, the midwest’s premiere “all-size-tires shindig” coincides with National Bike-to-Work Day, and of course May is National Bike Month. We’ll hold the ride & roll festivities May 18 – 20. What does this mean to you. Well if you are a racer you get a couple more weeks to prepare to race against the regions finest cyclists. If you’re a casual rider, you get a better chance for warm weather and fun outside with your friends (old and new).
Friday, May 18th we will be providing local opportunities to celebrate National Bike-to-Work Day, culminating with our annual opening ceremony, our version of Critical Mass – from The Village at Winona to Mad Anthony’s in Downtown Warsaw where we host the kick off party, bmx stunt show, bike videos and live music.
We will have all kinds of events for you to enjoy. Mountain bike racing, road racing, kids events and safety courses, BMX stunt shows, multi-length tours, live music, and a beer garden. And that is just on Saturday. Cerulean will be opening up the popular outside dining on Saturday so be sure to stop in and say hello.
Sunday we will feature a fast .5- mile criterium race around the island in the Village at Winona. Be sure to stick around for this as these guys & gals are FAST! Once again we will have local celebrities and company executives racing in the the Orthopaedic Cup. A fun event to watch and cheer on your favorite team to win bragging rights and their name etched on the Ortho Cup Trophy for the year. This year, we’ve added a second day of mountain biking, which will include a Time Trial and a Short Track XC race.
The planning committee is in full swing and we are getting very excited for this year’s festival. We always have a few surprises for the weekend, so you will want to stick around for the whole weekend in beautiful Warsaw and Winona Lake.
