Donate That Old Bike

Got an old bike in the garage or basement that is collecting dust? Not sure where to take it? We’re happy to be accepting donations of used kid’s bikes during Fat & Skinny Tire Fest weekend. Bring that old or unused bike to the Info Booth on Auditorium Blvd in the Village at Winona anytime between 10am-4pm on Saturday, May 21 and 9am-3pm on Sunday, May 22. The donated bikes will be cleaned up, repaired, refurbished and then donated by cycling enthusiasts and volunteers from KCV Cycling Club, Mission Point Community Church, and Warsaw Community Church so kids in Kosciusko County can receive a “like-new” bicycle this summer. Want to help work on the bikes after festival weekend, contact KCV Cycling Club (info@kcvcycling.org)

DINO Mountain Bike Series Race Update

The main state series for mountain bike racing will visit the Winona Lake Trails once again, and DINO is making it even more accessible for first-timers and the occasional racer. There is NO racing license or one day permit required, and racers will save $5 for the former USA Cycling fee.

This year’s logo was designed with tribute to the tradition of cyclists to pin their number upside down in case they got “13” as their race number. A superstitious tradition of battling against the “unlucky 13”.

With the midwest’s premiere “all-size-tires shindig” fast approaching, our ode to celebrating bicycling and community, Fat & Skinny Tire Fest 13 (#FSTF13) coincides with National Bike-to-Work Day as the ride & roll festivities take place May 20-22, 2016. There’s plenty of opportunities to join us on your bike, no matter what style of riding you prefer.

Of course we’re bringing back all the fun and exciting events of previous years including the Friday night kick-off party, live music, great food, cold craft beers, and stellar bicycling fun, as well as some of the exciting new additions from last year, including the Road Time Trial, Three Event Road Omnium competition, and SRAM 4-Cross. Plus, this year we’ve added a family-friendly 12 mile route to the Countryside Tour, as well as a 100 mile “Century” route.

Fat & Skinny Tire Fest Expands Road Race Events with Time Trial and Omnium

We’re excited to announce we’ve added a new road racing event and an overall competition to the 12th Annual Fat & Skinny Tire Fest!

On Friday evening of the festival, we will be holding a 3.2 mile time trial starting and finishing in downtown Warsaw. With this addition to our Saturday Road Race and Sunday Criterium, it was only appropriate to add an overall Omnium competition for participants in all 3 races as well!
